My name is Michaela and I am the face behind Murray.Creates.
I'm not sure what influenced my sense of adventure and desire to create more, being raised watching Animal Planet and Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations or growing up in a small town in the third smallest state. When it was time to go to college, I picked The University of Tampa, a school 1,200 miles away from everything I ever knew. I graduated in 2020 (yes, during the pandemic), with a degree in Political Science and International Studies. Having just graduated with a degree that exposed me to the world, lockdown had me itching to explore and experience everything I could. The second I was able to, I moved to Madrid, Spain where I taught English at a rural elementary school. During this time, I traveled to over 40 cities within 12 (or 13 depending on how you count) countries all over Europe and North Africa. I was lucky enough to experience dozens of museums, historical sites, religious sites, landmarks, etc. and I fell in love. I fell in love with art, history, and the human experience.
And that is what I seek to capture today with photography and visual design.
Currently located on Oahu, I am constantly seeking to learn from and tell the stories of those around me.
